Shoe Glossary 👟 👠:

Shoe : A shoe is a fashion accessory that covers the foot and can be used for walking, sports, work, etc.

Basketball shoe : Also called a sneaker, it is a lightweight and comfortable sports shoe designed for physical activities.

Sneaker : See basketball.

Boot : A boot is a tall shoe that covers the leg and can be used for protection against the elements.

Moccasin : A moccasin is a soft and comfortable slip-on shoe, often made of leather.

Derby : The derby is a laced shoe with eyelets sewn onto the top of the upper.

Richelieu : The Richelieu is a dress shoe with laces, whose quarters (side parts of the shoe) are cut and sewn onto the top of the upper.

Sandal : A sandal is an open shoe that fastens to the foot with straps or laces.

High heel pump : A high heel pump is a dress shoe with high heels.

Heel : The heel is the part of the shoe located under the heel of the foot. It can have different heights.

Sole : The sole is the lower part of the shoe that is in contact with the ground.

Upper : The upper is the top part of the shoe that covers the foot.

Shoelace : A shoelace is a cord or strip used to tie a shoe.

Toe : The toe of the shoe is the part that covers the toes.

Lining : The lining is the inner part of the shoe that is in contact with the foot.

Pad : The pad is a piece of rubber or leather that is fixed under the sole to protect it from wear.

Style : a set of characteristics that define a look or a clothing trend.

Trend : an emerging movement in fashion, often influenced by celebrities and fashion shows.

Glossary of institutional pages 🚨:

Consent: any freely given, specific, informed and unambiguous indication of the data subject's wishes by which he or she, by a statement or by a clear affirmative action, signifies agreement to the processing of personal data relating to him or her.

Data Protection Officer (DPO): the designated person in charge of the protection of Personal Data.

Recipient: natural or legal person or any other organization that receives communication of Personal Data.

Personal Data/Personal Data/Data: any information relating to a Data Subject, in particular by reference to an identifier such as a name, an identification number, an identity card number, salary, health records, bank account information, driving or consumption habits, location data, an online identifier, etc. The term "Personal Data" includes sensitive personal data.

Sensitive personal data/Sensitive personal data: refers to personal data revealing or based on:

  • racial or ethnic origin, political, religious or philosophical opinions
  • membership in a trade union organization
  • physical or mental health
  • sexual orientation or sex life
  • Genetic and biometric data
  • Data relating to criminal convictions, offences or related security measures.

Applicable legislation: the set of regulations relating to the protection of Personal Data and applicable to the Processing of Personal Data, namely European Regulation No. 2016/679 on the protection of Personal Data (GDPR), the amended Data Protection Act, and any other regulations relating thereto.

Data subject/Person: a natural person to whom the Personal Data relates and who can be identified or identifiable, directly or indirectly, by reference to those Personal Data. This includes current and former customers, prospects, and employees.

Data controller: natural or legal person who, individually or jointly, decides what personal data is collected, why and how it is collected and processed.

GDPR: abbreviation for European Regulation No. 2016/679 of 27 April 2016 on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data.

Subcontractor: any natural or legal person or other body which processes Personal Data on behalf of the Data Controller and according to its instructions (for example, service providers or suppliers).

Third party: any natural or legal person, public authority, agency or any other body other than the Data Subject, the Controller, the Processor and persons who, under the direct authority of the Controller or the Processor, are empowered or authorized to process the Data.

Processing: any operation or set of operations performed on Personal Data, whether or not by automated means, such as collection, access, recording, copying, transfer, storage, alignment, alteration, structuring, disclosure, recording, destruction, whether by automated, semi-automatic or otherwise means. Data Transfer: any communication, copying or movement of Data via a network, or any communication, copying or movement of such Data from one medium to another, regardless of the medium, of Personal Data to a country outside the European Union or to an international organization which are or are intended to be processed after such Transfer.
